HOUSEHOLDS could save around £75 a year on their annual bills under a new Government drive to make fridges, washing machines and other appliances more energy efficient. Ministers last night announced plans for new manufacturing standards aimed at making electrical goods cheaper to run, easier repair and more longer lasting.
