People smugglers who claim it will be tougher to enter Britain after Brexit have fuelled a “dramatic” surge in migrants crossing the English Channel, border officers have warned. Gangs are apparently insisting the UK will “close” after it leaves the EU, in a bid to drive up demand for their ruthless trade, the Immigration Service Union said.
