Islamic State Faces Final Territorial Defeat in Eastern Syria Battle

The US has about 2,000 troops in Syria, mainly to support the Syrian Democratic Forces in fighting IS. The SDF is expected to declare victory within a week, following which Trump has promised to withdraw troops.
