"We Deserve This": Rizwan's Blunt Admission On Pakistan's T20 WC Criticism

The post-mortem of the Pakistan cricket team, following the disastrous T20 World Cup show, has been long and brutal to say the least. Pakistan were thought to be the dark horse, but failed to even get out of the group stage. Pakistan were stunned by tournament co-hosts and debutants USA in their tournament opener, before losing to arch-rivals in a nail-biting clash. Pakistan's defeats saw them miss out on Super 8 qualification, with the result sparking an uproar from current and former cricketers.

Babar Azam and his men have been on the receiving end of some brutal criticism from fans and former cricketers, who have even demanded that the board should sack the entire team for the horrible show in the T20 World Cup.

However, wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has accepted the criticism that Pakistan players are facing, adding that all of this is part of a huge learning curve.

"The criticism team is facing is justified and we deserve this since we didn't perform in accordance with expectations. Players who can't face criticism won't be able to succeed. We are disappointed with our performance in T20 World Cup. There are multiple reasons behind our losses. When a team loses, one can't say that bowling and batting is doing well," Rizwan said during a press conference in Peshwawar.

Pakistsan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi had used the word "operation" during a press conference, hinting that the board is likely to take extreme steps against the players.

Sharing his views on the same, Rizwan admitted that the PCB chief has got every right to decide Pakistan's cricket future.

"Operations are a normal thing. When a person is ill, operation is necessary. PCB Chairman is a hard-working person. The decision about who will remain in the team and who will not is the chairman's right," he added.

Rizwan also had a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup, amassing 110 runs at an average of 36.66 with an underwhelming strike rate of 90.90.

Team India Stuck In Barbados Due To Hurricane Beryl: Report

After a grueling month-long T20 World Cup, the Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is in the midst of celebrating their glorious victory in Barbados as Hurricane Beryl, a Grade 3 hurricane, approaches the island, threatening to trap the team and pose significant risks of flight cancellations. Sources close to Indian team have told the IANS that, "Rohit-led side is currently stuck in their Hotel Hilton at Barbados." The team, originally scheduled to depart Barbados on Monday at 11 AM local time (8:30 PM IST), is now facing delays due to the impending hurricane. Their planned route was to New York, followed by a connecting flight to Dubai and finally back to India.

Even worse, the Hilton, where India is staying, is close to the coast and is probably going to be hit by a Category 3 hurricane. The hurricane is predicted to hit Barbados at midnight on Sunday or early on Monday morning.

Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley announced that Grantley Adams International Airport would close by nighttime on Sunday in anticipation of the hurricane, preventing any flights from landing or taking off.

However, it is unknown at this point if they will be able to board that flight, but should they become stuck in terrible weather, they could be left stranded in Barbados for a duration of 36 to 48 hours.

7.4 overs (1 Run) Tosses it up and it is very full, on middle, Tristan Stubbs gets on the front foot and knocks it to wide long on for a single.

7.3 overs (1 Run) On the pads by Kuldeep, full in length, Quinton de Kock helps it off his pads to the left of short fine leg for one more run.

7.2 overs (1 Run) Full again but not much air, on middle, Tristan Stubbs eases it down to long on for a single.

5.4 overs (1 Run) Flighted up again on the stumps, Tristan Stubbs heaves it off the toe end of the bat down to long on for a single.

5.3 overs (2 Runs) Firmly struck but that's good fielding in the deep! Tossed up full on middle, Tristan Stubbs clears the front leg and swats it flat to the left of long on where Suryakumar Yadav dives across and keeps it down to two.

5.2 overs (2 Runs) In the air but will land safely! Flatter one, a tad bit short and around off, Tristan Stubbs rocks back and tries to force it over covers and ends up slicing it over the point region for a couple of runs.

5.1 overs (1 Run) Starts off short and flat, at the pads, Quinton de Kock nurdles it past backward square leg for a single.
