Arjun Tendulkar's IPL debut was widely followed as he played his first match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders. While Arjun, son of Sachin Tendulkar, could not scalp any wicket in his first match, the wait ended in his second match, that too in a tense last over against SunRisers Hyderabad. With SRH needing 20 runs in the last over, Arjun scalped his maiden wicket on the fifth ball as he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was caught by Rohit Sharma at covers. Before that, Arjun looked like following a plan and delivered a couple of good yorkers to keep the SRH batters at bay. 

MI ultimately won by 14 runs as Rohit Sharma was ecstatic after Arjun got his first wicket.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians defeated hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday. Cameron Green scored a timely half-century to help Mumbai Indians post a challenging 192 for five after being asked to bat. The home team then kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 178 in 19.5 overs.

Earlier, Green scored an unbeaten 64 off 40 deliveries with the help of six fours and a couple of maximums.

Ishan Kishan (38) and Tilak Varma (37) also provided valuable contributions.

Marco Jansen (2/43) snared two wickets for the home team while Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/31) and T Natarajan (1/50) took wickets apiece.

While other Mumbai Indians batters made merry against SunRisers Hyderabad in an IPL 2023 game, Suryakumar Yadav fell cheaply on 7. Cameron Green's maiden IPL fifty and Tilak Varma's impactful cameo fired Mumbai Indians to a challenging 192 for five against Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Tuesday. Besides the fast-rising Varma and Green (64 not out off 40 balls), the other contributions came from skipper Rohit Sharma (28 off 18) and Ishan Kishan (38 off 31) after the home team opted to bowl.

The 20-year-old Varma (37 off 17) has been the stand out batter in the star studded Mumbai line-up and his rare talent and skill was on display again in his crucial cameo.

Mumbai were finding it tough to get going in the middle overs but Varma's high quality knock gave the innings the much-needed momentum.

The lanky Marco Jansen was punished for 21 runs in the 15th over when Varma dispatched him for successive sixes, one in the cow corner and the other over the bowler's head.

In the following over, the southpaw used his wrists beautifully for a four over extra cover off leggie Mayank Markande before sweeping him for a maximum for a 14-run over.

Green, who struggled to get his timing right initially, got down to business after Varma's dismissal. The tall right-hander hammered three straight fours off T Natarajan to bring up his half-century before collecting a straight six in a 20-run over.

Natarajan leaked runs in the 20th over and ended up conceding 50 runs in his four overs. Mumbai managed to smash 62 runs in the last five overs.

IPL 2023: Late Comeback Helps CSK Beat RCB By 8 Runs In Bengaluru

Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs in their Indian Premier League match on Monday. Set an imposing target of 227, RCB looked on course until the departure of Glenn Maxwell (76 off 36 balls) and skipper Faf du Plessis (62 off 33) in quick succession. The duo added 126 runs for the third wicket to raise hopes of an RCB victory. Earlier, CSK scored 226 for six after being asked to bat first. Opener Devon Conway struck 83 off 45 deliveries and was involved in a 74-run partnership for the second wicket with Ajinkya Rahane (37 off 20 balls).

Later, Conway added 80 runs for the third wicket with Shivam Dube, who blazed away to a 27-ball 52 with the help of five sixes and two fours.
